My journey to open source begin back in March 2018,when I applied for AOSSIE organisation , but my contributions were null and not even a single pull request was merged. I thought my proposal will be accepted but results were different from my expectations. Time passed and at the end of June, Nagarro came to my college for Boot Camp . I was lucky enough to get selected for Boot Camp and my training began at Nagarro .

I want to really thank my mentors Arnav Gupta And Ayush Arora who taught me Node And Angular during my training period. When bootcamp was on the end , I asked Arnav about how to prepare for GSOC. He told one golden rule — ‘ Active Contributors are chosen by open source organisations and more you contribute, better are your chances’ .I followed that rule from that day onwards .

The real coding to open source began on 10 September when I came to know about Fossasia’s CodeHeat .The top 3 contributors get trip to Singapore and fuelled me to contribute even more . I started exploring JavaScript projects. It was due to my bootcamp training , I was able to handle large code base project like Badgeyay , SUSI.AI . I started making feature requests and their required patches. My first pull request got accepted on 12 September and I was really happy . I contributed to project as much as possible and applied for Google Code In mentor-ship in same organisation. After merging of nearly 25 pull requests , came my first invitation from open source .

GCI Mentorship

I was really happy and started contributing to further projects and currently , working with FOSSASIA . This is just the starting , I have to learn much more from open source and give back to my community .

Here are my Contributions till date .
